What is Proviron (mesterolone)?

Mesterolone is an oral androgen derived from dihydrotestosterone, developed by Schering AG and sold as Proviron since the 1960s.

Unlike most oral steroids, mesterolone is not 17-alpha alkylated. A methyl group at the 1-alpha position helps it resist breakdown in the liver. It is supplied as 25mg tablets in most markets.
