What is Primobolan (methenolone acetate)?

Methenolone is a DHT-derived anabolic steroid developed by Schering AG and sold as Primobolan from the early 1960s. The acetate ester is the oral form, made as tablets.

Methenolone is one of the few oral steroids that is not 17-alpha alkylated. A 1-methyl group and a double bond in the A-ring give it its oral activity. The injectable version, Primobolan Depot, uses the longer enanthate ester.
